Brassy & bold Barbera.
100% Barbera, organically farmed from limestone soils within the Piedmont region. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for 6 months in a mixture of neutral oak and chestnut barrels for added structure. Elegant with loads of black fruit, and an overarching throughline of minerality. You could drink it now, but trust us – it’s worth hanging onto.
- The Vacca family purchased the estate from Domizio Cavazza, a legendary agronomist; they have been tending to the vines at Cantina del Pino for 100 years.
- The property takes its name from a pine tree planted on the property that was planted on the day Domizio’s son, Luigi was born.
- In 1997 they branched out from working in a cooperative, thanks to Renato and Franca, the couple who are currently running the property.
