American-born Summer Wolff has worked just about every job in the wine industry -- from somm & wine director to importer and wife to Fabrizio Iuli of Piedmonte winery Cascina Iuli. Years of working in wine culminated in Summer producing her own wines.
In her own words:
"My goal was for a very drinkable, fresh and bright expression of Freisa which I’ve been getting to know over the years. We direct pressed 20% of the fruit to allow there to be some more balance and harmony between the tannins and all the bright fruit and flower that this variety has to offer.
The wine is named after my first son, Gioacchino, who at home we call GioGio"
